The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) has signed an agreement with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) in Hyderabad to prepare satellite images of the NCR towns to assess whether the norms laid down by the Board have been considered or flouted.

Steel Authority of India Ltd. Plans to invest a sum of Rs 1.31 lakh crore to expand its production capacity to 45 million tones per annum (mtpa) by 2020, the Chairman C. S. Verma said.

The SAIL expanding its crude steel production capacity to 21.4 mtpa from 12.84 mtpa now with Rs. 72000 crore investments. On its plan to invest Rs. 1.31 lakh crore, the capacity increases from 21.4 mtpa to 45 mtpa.

SAIL, which operates five integrated steel plants ,  plans to expand capacity at four of them, leaving IISCO steel plant at Burnpur out of the expansion plan.  SAIL has already received Cabinet approval to set up the Greenfield steel plant with about Rs. 26000 crore investment.
